Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi met newly appointed Spanish Ambassador Carlos Aragon Gil de la Serna at Governor House. The meeting focused on bilateral relations, expansion of trade volume and the promotion of mutual cooperation.
The governor said that further expanding Pakistan-Spain cooperation in culture, tourism and educational exchange programs was an important need of the time, according to information by the Sindh Governor House today.
The Spanish Ambassador appreciated the role of the Pakistani government in efforts related to resolving the Middle East conflict. During the meeting, both sides discussed the strong demand for Pakistani textile products in Spain and agreed on the need to enhance exports.
The Spanish Ambassador stated that more than 170,000 Pakistanis are residing in Spain and noted that the Pakistani community is playing an important role in strengthening bilateral relations and contributing to economic growth.
He stated that Pakistan-Spain bilateral trade volume stands at approximately $1.6 billion, with Pakistani exports at $1.5 billion and imports at $214 million.
The governor also emphasized the importance of youth exchange programs and the organization of joint food festivals. He added that Sindh offers extensive opportunities for foreign investors, particularly Spanish investors.
The Spanish Ambassador also recorded his remarks in the guest book at Governor House Sindh.
