Karachi, January 30, 2018 (PPI-OT):PSQCA Team raided on cooking oil / ghee unit situated at Port Qasim Authority Karachi. On arrival at M/s, Universal Edible Oil Mills. The PSQCA Team caught sub-standard unlicensed Ghee and Cooking Oil from the factory. PSQCA team caught unlicensed sub-standard Ghee / cooking oil i.e. Al Hafiz, Laila, Hamdan, and seized these Product on spot. Factory was using Pakistan Standards Mark on the packing of Ghee/Cooking oil without having licence form PSQCA.
Engr. Muhammad Khalid Siddiq, Director General PSQCA. has warned producers and manufacturers to manufacture products according to Pakistan Standards specifications and display the Pakistan Standards Mark on their products after receiving valid licences from the Authorityfailing which the Authority will be constrained to take action under the rules. The Authority has observed with the concern that even some of the companies registered with it are not complying with the requirement. They are warned not to produce sub-standards products otherwise they may be punished against section14 and 22 of the Act of PSQCA.
