Minister for Finance Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to collaborating with development partners, including the United Nations, to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and ensure a sustainable future for the nation.

In a meeting with a UN delegation led by Resident Coordinator Mohammed Yahya, Aurangzeb emphasized the vital role of technical support from development partners in crafting and executing projects aligned with international standards. He highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing partnership with the World Bank focusing on population management and learning poverty as part of a decade-long Country Partnership Framework.

The discussions covered key topics such as debt management, climate financing, and Pakistan’s transition to green energy. Aurangzeb shared updates on the country’s economic outlook, noting stability and improvements in key indicators, while stressing the importance of an export- and productivity-led growth model. He also underscored the private sector’s role in fostering inclusive, sustainable growth.

The meeting also explored opportunities for enhanced climate financing and green energy initiatives, alongside strategies to equip Pakistan’s youth with entrepreneurial skills for long-term economic growth.
