Pakistan has acknowledged the European Union’s support for the Arab and OIC initiative aimed at rebuilding Gaza and advancing peace in Palestine through the two-state solution.
During a Security Council meeting on the EU’s engagement with the United Nations, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UN, Munir Akram, expressed appreciation for the EU’s humanitarian assistance to Gaza and the West Bank, as well as its continued support for UNRWA.
Akram emphasized Pakistan’s strong relations with the EU, describing their partnership as comprehensive and wide-ranging. He highlighted the EU’s role as Pakistan’s largest trade and investment partner, underscoring the significance of economic collaboration between the two.
The ambassador pointed out that the Generalized Scheme of Preferences Plus (GSP+) has contributed to the expansion of Pakistan-EU trade, describing it as a mutually beneficial model for economic cooperation.
