Islamabad, March 29, 2018 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi says Pakistan will continue to fight out terrorists till the elimination of their last remnants. He was addressing a ceremony in honor of Youngest Nobel Laureate Malala Yousufzai in Islamabad today.
The Prime Minister said when Malala left home in 2012, terrorism was rife in the country, however the country waged a very difficult war against this menace, sacrificing its over 6,500 army men and 25,000 civilians and law enforcement personnel, to make the country peaceful. He described the young Malala a leading representative of the youth, particularly of the women and assured that the government fully stand by her vision.
The Prime Minister said whatever impression the world has got about Pakistan, there is no other country in the world that has rendered more sacrifices against terrorism. Addressing the ceremony Nobel Laureate Malala Yousufzai said that a strong and long-lasting democracy in Pakistan is very important for its peace and prosperity. She said unity among the people of Pakistan is need of the hour to address the issues including education and health.
Malala said the areas of education, health and economic growth have nothing to do with political differences and thus require a collaborative effort by all, setting aside their mutual differences. Overwhelmed with emotions and outpouring of love for the homeland, Malala said she is extremely happy to return home. Malala stressed for investing in the education, particularly of girl child. She said the Malala Education Fund is already working in this regard and its objective is to empower the women and make them self-sufficient to earn their own living.
