Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar today characterized his recent visit to China as highly successful, highlighting significant progress on diplomatic, strategic, and economic fronts.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, the Deputy Prime Minister revealed that the visit was not a routine diplomatic engagement but rather focused on urgent objectives, including bilateral meetings with Chinese leadership and trilateral dialogues involving Afghanistan.

Dar emphasized that the ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India remains intact, with military engagements continuing smoothly. He noted Pakistan’s efforts in countering the Indian narrative and advocated for an international investigation into the Pahalgam incident, which India declined. This stance, he asserted, bolstered Pakistan”s credibility globally.

Addressing regional security, Dar detailed agreements with China and Afghanistan to eradicate terrorism, ensuring no terrorist organizations are allowed to use any country”s soil against another. He announced plans to expand the ChinaPakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to Afghanistan and China”s agreement to construct a highway from Peshawar to Kabul, enhancing Gwadar Port”s efficiency. Additionally, China expressed intent to finance the PakistanAfghanistanUzbekistan Railway Project, marking a transformative step for regional connectivity.

The Deputy Prime Minister also condemned the recent Khuzdar attack, vowing to bring the perpetrators to justice. He congratulated Field Marshal Asim Munir on his promotion, acknowledging his exceptional leadership in national security.

Dar reiterated Pakistan”s commitment to peace while asserting its right to defend sovereignty. The venue for future PakistanIndia dialogue will be determined through mutual consensus.
