The High Commission of Pakistan in Ottawa commemorated the National Day of Pakistan with traditional patriotic fervor. High Commissioner Muhammad Saleem led the ceremony by hoisting the national flag at the Chancery premises, a gathering attended by Pakistani community members, High Commission staff, students, and friends of Pakistan.
Special messages from President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif were presented to the audience, reaffirming the commitment to fulfilling the vision of Pakistan’s founding fathers. High Commissioner Saleem paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the nation’s forefathers for their sacrifices. He highlighted Pakistan’s achievements in economic growth, technological advancement, and contributions to global peace and security over the last seven decades.
The High Commissioner stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Canada in political, economic, higher education, and cultural exchanges. The event concluded with prayers for Pakistan’s prosperity.
