In a significant development for bilateral relations, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari and Russia’s Minister for Transport Mr Roman Starovoyt today met to assess the prospects of expanding bilateral connectivity between their nations.
According to a PID statement, both ministers expressed optimism that enhanced connectivity would not only benefit Pakistan and Russia but also contribute positively to the entire region.
Leghari, currently in Moscow to co-chair the 9th session of the Pakistan-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission (IGC), praised the growing cooperation between the two countries. He emphasized the potential for increased collaboration in the transport sector, focusing on road, rail, and air connectivity.
During the meeting, the two sides took stock of ongoing and future projects aimed at enhancing bilateral transport infrastructure. Minister Leghari extended an invitation to Minister Starovoyt to visit Pakistan, underscoring the importance of further strengthening ties and continuing the dialogue to enhance cooperation in various sectors.
Both leaders agreed to keep the communication channels open and build upon their existing cooperation, with the aim of fostering greater connectivity and trade between Pakistan and Russia.
