Pakistan’s adoption of electric vehicles expected to reach 30% by 2030

Pakistan’s adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) is projected to reach 30% by 2030, a forecast that is driving new infrastructure initiatives, according to Malik Khuda Bakhsh, Chairman of Malik Group of Companies. His remarks came during a ceremony marking a new partnership to establish a widespread EV charging network.

According to a statement today, to address the anticipated demand, Malik Group has signed an agreement with Lucky Petroleum Private Limited (LPPL) to install electric vehicle charging equipment at 10% of the fuel retailer’s outlets. The accord was formalized by Malik Khuda Bakhsh and LPPL CEO Naseem Aqsar Abbasi.

Bakhsh emphasized that pollution-free transport is essential for the public amid the growing trend of electric mobility, adding that the installation of large-scale EV charging facilities in Karachi is imminent. He also revealed that with backing from the Chinese investment firm ADM Group, his company has already commenced installing charging equipment in Sindh.

Naseem Aqsar Abbasi, CEO of Lucky Petroleum, remarked that LPPL is focused on providing superior quality and an exceptional experience for its clients. “Our mission is to unlock Pakistan”s energy potential responsibly and sustainably, contributing to economic prosperity and securing a brighter future for generations to come,” he said.
