The Embassy of Pakistan in Washington hosted the final sequel of the “Pakistan-US Tech Investment Conference 2025,” marking a significant turnout of IT firms, tech executives, business leaders, and entrepreneurs.
A PID report said today that the event concluded a series of meetings that included earlier sessions in Dallas, Texas, and New York City, aiming to showcase Pakistan’s burgeoning potential in the information technology sector to attract foreign investment.
The conference was orchestrated by the Embassy of Pakistan along with the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT), the Ministry of Commerce, P@SHA (Pakistan’s sole trade association for IT and IT-enabled services), and The Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs (OPEN) Global.
Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, in his opening address, highlighted the conference as a reflection of Pakistan’s IT capabilities and its ambitious vision for the future. “The IT sector holds tremendous promise for growth and development. Pakistan is only beginning to tap into its IT potential,” stated Ambassador Sheikh. He also emphasized Pakistan”s strategic geographical advantages and its resilience over the past 78 years amidst various challenges.
Ambassador Sheikh underscored the strong potential for collaboration between Pakistan and the United States, focusing on Pakistan’s young, talented population and the lucrative opportunities the Pakistani market holds for U.S. investors. “With a vibrant youth demographic, constituting 65% of our population under the age of 30, Pakistan and the US are poised for significant cooperation in the dynamic field of IT,” he said.
Additionally, Ambassador Sheikh announced the launch of a video series intended to celebrate the success stories of Pakistani tech entrepreneurs, aiming to inspire the nation”s youth to engage more actively in the startup ecosystem. “Our young entrepreneurs are poised to make significant breakthroughs with the right support from US mentors and advisors,” he noted.
The event also featured speeches from notable figures such as Mr. Abu Bakar, CEO of Pakistan Software Export Board; Mr. Sajjad Syed, Chairman of P@SHA; Mr. Tariq Khan, President of OPEN Global; and Mr. Naveed Shirwani. All speakers echoed the promising outlook of Pakistan’s tech industry and lauded the Embassy and Consulate Generals in New York and Houston for their efforts in coordinating the three successive events across different states.
During the conference, participants engaged in various presentations by innovative IT firms and took part in fireside chat sessions where experts shared insights into Pakistan’s IT developments and discussed profitable ventures.
In his closing remarks, Ambassador Sheikh expressed gratitude to all participants and collaborators for their contributions to the conference”s success. He reiterated the Embassy”s ongoing commitment to promoting Pakistan’s IT sector across the U.S.
Ambassador Sheikh concluded with a strong commitment to enhancing Pakistan’s economy, envisioning the IT sector as a fundamental pillar of the nation’s economic security.
