PCJCCI endeavours to promote “Land, lease and incentives for Entrepreneurs”

Lahore, March 28, 2019 (PPI-OT):Foreign investors have shown growing interest to invest in Pakistan due to immense market potential and improved governance in the country. It was observed by the speakers at a seminar organized by Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) to introduce “Land lease and incentives for foreign and local Entrepreneurs in Pakistan”, today at PCJCCI Premises. The seminar was addressed by Mr. Ahmad Hasnain, Vice President and Dr. Iqbal Qureshi, Chairman Standing Committee on financial services, PCJCCI. Whereas, Mr. Fareedullah Qureshi a distinguished Chief Financial Officer spoke as the key speaker on this occasion.

Mr. Ahmed Hasnain, Vice President PCJCCI while expressing his views said that PCJCCI was making focused efforts to attract foreign investors towards Pakistan, for which the proposals were being derived to ease out the land lease procedures in the country He underlined that the challenges of unemployment, poverty and illiteracy can only be addressed by creating a conducive environment for investment.

Dr. Iqbal Qureshi, Chairman Standing Committee PCJCCI on Financial Service, in his address, said that the seminar on Land, lease and incentives for foreign and local Entrepreneurs in Pakistan was part of the series of PCJCCI awareness campaign on entrepreneurship and investment promotion between China and Pakistan. He asserted that the country needed radical changes in the economic policies for enhancing ease of doing business, for which land lease incentives can play pivotal role.

Mr. Fareedullah Qureshi, delivering key address on the subject said that entrepreneurship was viewed as a combination of innovation and risk taking phenomenon by the world economists. The promotion of entrepreneurship thrives, high growth rates creating opportunities for all spheres of society, whose positive impact, ultimately, reaches the poor strata of the society in the form of employments, he said and observed that the world had become more globalized, where technology and communication had allowed businesses expanding to the international markets, talent and information.

He said that foreign investors had shown growing interest to invest in Pakistan due to immense market potential of the country and improved governance. He informed that the existing foreign remittances are to the tune of 20 billion dollars at present and can be enhanced to 30 billion dollars by giving more incentives to the investors. He emphasized to create an entrepreneurial economy for this purpose.
