PFUJ call: Demo held against media curbs

SHIKARPUR:On the call of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), Shikarpur Union of Journalists held a protest demonstration on Wednesday at Shikarpur Press Club against the violation of freedom of expression and journals’ rights.

 

The participants were carrying placards and banners in their hands. They also wore black armbands and shouted against injustice with journalists who are writing truth for provision of justice to the oppressed people.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Shikarpur Union of Journalists, led by its President Agha Israr Khan and General Secretary Abdul Salam Unar, strongly condemned unjustified acts of usurping rights of journalists, including their forcibly downsizing by various media outlets, delaying salaries and incentives since last many months, and discontinuation of government advertisements to their media outlets which is sources of their feeding.

 

They expressed their unity with all journalists. They pledged to continue their protest movement till the acceptance of all genuine demands of the journalists’ fraternity across the country.

 

Sanjrani, Abdul Rasheed Jamro, Manthar Sanjrani, Abdul Hakeem Jatoi, Attiq Dhukar, Muhammad Ibrahim Brohi, Abdul Khaliq Soomro, Arif Qureshi, Imran Brohi, Amjad Arain, Irfan Noon participated in the protest.
