A photo exhibition and a seminar titled “Soldiers of a Righteous War: A Strong Foundation”, focusing on the 1965 Pak-India war, were featured at an event held at the Mazar-e-Quaid to mark Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day. The event was organized by the Quaid-e-Azam Academy and the Mazar Management Board.
Mukhtar Ahmed Butt (Retd) was the chief guest, while Colonel (Retd) Akhtar Khalil presided over the event. Assistant Professor Muhammad Ali moderated the seminar, which was addressed by senior journalists Manwar Rajput, Absar Ahmed, Ms. Misbah Awan, Professor Muhammad Raza Shah, Abdul Aleem Shaikh, Zahid Hussain Abro, and students. The program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat, followed by student speeches and patriotic songs.
The speakers emphasized that the 1965 conflict transcended mere geopolitical rivalry, representing a clash of ideologies. They highlighted Pakistan’s identity as more than just land, but an embodiment of faith and belief. The armed forces were hailed as a source of national pride. While advocating for peace, the speakers reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to its sovereignty and dignity.
The event concluded with the organizers presenting gifts and shields to the distinguished guests and participating students.
