KARACHI: After decline in petrol and diesel prices, Minister for Aviation and Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Saturday announced a 10 percent reduction in the fares of Pakistan International Airline’s domestic flights and economy class of railways.
In a Tweet, Saad said that these relief measures have been introduced after the reduction in the prices of petroleum products. The minister said that the implementation will be effective from Sunday. The notification in this regard will be issued the same day.
It may be noted that earlier in June, Pakistan Railways (PR) had announced increase in fares of all express passenger trains by 10 per cent and freight charges by 15pc. The PIA in June had also raised fares of domestic airlines by 25 per cent due to oil price hike. The decline in these fares will provide relief to the masses who are already suffering from skyrocketing price hike.
