PISHIN: District Election Commissioner and Returning Officer Municipal Corporation Pishin, Syed Nazir Ahmad Harifal said on Monday that the process of local body elections is going on fast in Pishin like other districts of Balochistan.
Talking to media here today, he said that corporation Pishin’s 34, Municipal Committee Khanozai and Saranan, respectively, 19,19 wards i.e. 383 candidates for 72 seats of Municipal Corporation and Municipal Committees while 1390 candidates for 380 seats of 67 Union Councils in the district have submitted nomination. He said that the process of scrutiny of nomination papers is underway which would continue till tomorrow.
Similarly, from April 26 to April 28, according to the schedule, candidates would file objections against scrutiny or decisions of Returning Officer and Appellate Tribunals from April 29 to May 6. He said that the revised lists of candidates contesting the elections would be posted on May 7, while the candidates could withdraw or withdraw their nomination papers on May 9 and the symbols would be allotted on May 10.
The total number of voters in the district is 302,818 of which 176,512 are male voters and 126,306 are female voters. Similarly, the total number of polling stations will be 507 while the number of polling booths will be 1191 during local body elections. Election Commissioner Nazir Ahmad Harifal said that the candidates should abide by the election code of conduct. Ethically and legally all the candidates are bound by the constitution and the code of conduct. It is a moral obligation to adhere strictly to what has been done.
