ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Punjab government to conduct joint assessment survey for payment of financial assistance to the flood-affected people in Dera Ghazi (DG) Khan and Rajanpur districts.
Speaking at a briefing in Dera Ghazi Khan on Friday, he said compensation payment to those whose family members lost their lives in floods and torrential rains must be ensured as early as possible. The Prime Minister was given a detailed briefing on the relief and rehabilitation work in the flood affected areas. He said the genuine issues raised by public representatives should be addressed on priority basis.
Shehbaz Sharif said the federal and Punjab government will work for the rehabilitation of the flood-affected families. He also directed to make contingency plan keeping in view the further spells of rains in the areas for the protection of lives and properties of the people.
