PM Imran hailed for effectively highlighting Kashmir dispute at UNGA 

Srinagar, September 25, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have hailed the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, for effectively highlighting the Kashmir dispute and the Indian brutalities in the territory in his address to the UN General Assembly.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Chairman of Democratic Political Movement, Khawaja Firdous, in a statement issued in Srinagar said Pakistan has always highlighted the Kashmir dispute and exposed the Indian brutalities at the international forums for which the people of Kashmir are grateful to the country. He said that Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has proved himself as the true ambassador of the Kashmiris. The DPM Chairman maintained that Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan, and Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, are the real well-wishers of the Kashmiris. He urged India to give up its intransigence on the Kashmir dispute and reciprocate Pakistan’s efforts for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute for ensuring permanent peace in South Asia.

Hurriyat leaders including Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Yasmeen Raja, Abdul Ahad Parra, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, Ghulam Nabi Waseem, Dr Musaib Ahmad and Fatima Jan in their statements hailed Imran Khan’s speech at the UNGA session. They said that Imran Khan, who has vehemently presented the case of the people of Jammu and Kashmir at every international forum, has given hope and strength to millions of hopeless people of IIOJK. The leaders said Pakistan Prime Minister exposed the Indian atrocities in IIOJK following the abrogation of special status of IIOJK by the Modi-led fascist regime in India. They thanked Imran Khan for reiterating his support to the Kashmir cause.

The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, headed by illegally detained Shabbir Ahmed Shah, expressed its gratitude to Prime Minister Imran Khan for raising the Kashmir dispute during his speech to the UNGA. The DFP spokesman in a statement in Srinagar termed it as a true reflection of Kashmiris’ sentiments. He said Kashmiri people are thankful to the Pakistani nation and government for lending their all-out support to the ongoing Kashmir freedom movement. He said Pakistan has consistently raised the Kashmir dispute at the world forums and used its political and diplomatic clout to raise global awareness about its early resolution for peace and prosperity in the region.

Hurriyat leader, Javaid Ahmed Mir, in a statement in Srinagar hailed the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan, for highlighting the Kashmir dispute at the UNGA. He said settlement of the Kashmir dispute is imperative for establishing durable peace in the region.

The spokesman of Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir in a statement in Srinagar said Imran Khan’s speech has boosted the morale of the oppression people of IIOJK. He said that Pakistan Prime Minister proved himself the true ambassador of Kashmiris by representing their aspirations at the august forum of the world. He said it was now the responsibility of the international community to end its criminal silence and hold India accountable for its serious war crimes in the occupied territory.

The spokesman of Kashmir Freedom Front in his statement in Srinagar thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan for effectively highlighting the Kashmir issue at the international level. He said that India was violating international laws in IIOJK. He appealed to the international community to play its role in resolving the Kashmir dispute for peace and stability in South Asia. He also thanked the Members of British Parliament and the OIC Contact Group on Kashmir for highlighting the Indian state terrorism in IIOJK.

The Convener of the AJK Chapter of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq-led Hurriyat forum, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, in his statement in Islamabad appreciated Pakistan’s Prime Minister for his support to the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination and highlighting the human rights violations by Indian armed forces in IIOJK. “Pakistan has always highlighted Kashmir dispute and stressed for its amicable settlement in accordance with UN resolutions. Kashmiri people are thankful to people and government of Pakistan for their support to the Kashmir cause,” he said. Naqshbandi appealed to the UN Security Council to send a fact finding mission to IIOJK urgently to assess the grim situation of the territory.

The Convener of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir AJK-chapter, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, in a statement issued in Islamabad thanked on behalf of the Kashmiri people the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the OIC and the Members of British Parliament for supporting the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination and highlighting the Indian atrocities in IIOJK.

He said Pakistan and Turkey have always raised their voices in favour of the oppressed Kashmiris. “Pakistan and Turkey are Islamic states that have always taken an open and just stand on the burning issues of the Muslim Ummah. These two countries do not have double standards in terms of justice. We hope that other Islamic countries will follow suit in the future,” he said.

Hurriyat AJK leaders including Altaf Hussain Wani, Shamim Shawl, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Syed Aijaz Rahmani, Engineer Mushtaq Mehmood and Abdul Hameed Lone, in their statements in Islamabad expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Imran Khan for raising the issue of Kashmir vociferously during his speech to the UN General Assembly.

Terming the premier’s landmark speech as a true reflection of Kashmiris’ sentiments, they lauded Pakistan’s consistent support to the Kashmiris’ legitimate freedom struggle. They said, the people of the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir owe a debt of gratitude to the people as well as the government of Pakistan for their continued support to the Kashmir cause and raising global awareness for early resolution of the Kashmir dispute. The Chairperson of Peace and Culture Organization, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, in a tweet also praised Prime Minister Imran Khan’s support and efforts for the Kashmir cause.
