PM reviews devastation caused by floods in Jacobabad, Jhal Magsi

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Saturday visited Jacobabad and Jhal Magsi to review devastation caused by floods in the area.

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) authorities, chief secretary Balochistan and NDMA Chairman Lt. General Akhtar Nawaz briefed the prime minister about the rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts in the flood-affected areas of the province, PM Office Media Wing said.

PM Shehbaz also reviewed devastation caused by the floods and rehabilitation measures for the victims. The prime minister also took an aerial view of Goth Ali Mardan Shambani and the chief secretary Balochistan briefed him on the flood situation and the related relief operations.

During Jhal Magsi visit, PM also distributed Rs one million cheques each in the families of the children who died during the recent floods. The prime minister met the affected families and encouraged them. He said the government was with the people in this hour of difficulty.

Sardar Khalid Magsi, Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Hydari, Housing Minister Maulana Abdul Wasi, Minister of State for Power Muhammad Hashim also accompanied the Prime Minister. While talking to media PM said there is 8 to 10 feet of water in a village of Jhal Magsi and people’s property, cattle and houses were damaged in Jhal Magsi. PM said unprecedented rains have played havoc this year in all areas of Balochistan.
