PMC asked to conduct survey of 15 hospitals for upgradation

QUETTA:Nur-ul-Haq Baloch, Secretary, Health Department, has said that Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) had been invited to carry out survey of 15 hospitals of Balochistan province for up-gradation to the status of post graduate hospitals in line with the special policy of government of Balochistan to introduce reforms in health sector of the province and accordingly provide healthcare facilities to the people of far flung areas of Balochistan province.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, Baloch said that 15 hospitals of the province, including Zhob, Chaman, Panjgur, Loralai, Turbat, Khuzdar, district teaching hospital, Hub, Cenar Cancer Hospital, Quetta, Institute of Child Health, Institute of Psychiatry, Institute of Chest, Institute of Eye, Institute of Nephrology and Urology and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Hospitals, Quetta, would be upgraded to postgraduate status and for the purpose Pakistan Medical Commission was going to start inspection of the mentioned hospitals from the third week of January, 2022 in order to upgrade those hospitals of the province to postgraduate status.

He added that after upgrading those hospitals of the province to post graduate, more posts of postgraduate and house Officer doctors would be created which would result in overcoming the deficiency of staff besides providing healthcare facilities to the people at their threshold. He said that measures were adopted to affiliate medical institutes of the province and hospitals with Pakistan Medical Commission and accordingly PMC according registration to three newly established medical colleges of the province viz., Mekran Medical College, Turbat, Jhalawan Medical College, Khuzdar and Loralai Medical College, Loralai.
