Imran Hussain Hazara, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate from PB-42-Quetta, has accused Zarak Khan Mandokhail, Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), of falsely contesting the February 8, 2024 general election.
Hazara claims Mandokhail held a position as a stenographer in the Balochistan Local Government Department while running for office.
At a Quetta Press Club conference on Sunday, Hazara stated that Mandokhail failed to disclose his employment in both the nomination papers and the accompanying affidavit, a violation of Articles 62 and 63 of the Pakistani Constitution.
Hazara”s initial challenge to Mandokhail”s candidacy before the Balochistan Election Tribunal was reportedly dismissed on a technicality related to the affidavit”s attestation.
He further alleges discrepancies between Form 47, which initially declared him the victor, and a subsequent Form 47 showing Mandokhail as the successful candidate.
Hazara asserts that Mandokhail remained a government worker until February 2023, citing submitted financial records from the Accountant General of Balochistan and a bank manager as evidence presented to the Election Tribunal. He confirmed the case has now been appealed to the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
