PML-N leader wants announcement of PTI foreign funding case verdict

ISLAMABAD: Former Sindh governor and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Zubair Umar on Saturday said he was surprised as to why the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was not announcing the verdict it had reserved in the PTI’s foreign funding case.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he asked as to why Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) was not taking suo moto notice of delay in decision in the case despite there were sufficient proofs of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) receiving prohibited funds from abroad.

“The case has been pending for the last eight years. It appears that there are two set of laws: one for 22 crore people of Pakistan, and the other for ‘ladla’ (blue-eyed boy),” he said satirically while referring to former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
