ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Poland to Pakistan Maciej Pisarski alongwith delegation of Polish Oil and Gas Company (POGC) headed by Mr Robert Perkowski, vice president and chief operating officer and Mr Artur Cieslik, vice president of Management board called on Minister of state for Petroleum Dr Musadik Malik here at Petroleum Division on Tuesday.
The Minister welcomed the Polish ambassador and discussed areas of mutual interest. He further highlighted Pakistan’s interest in benefitting from Poland’s technical expertise in oil and gas sector. Poland is among the pioneers of petroleum exploration in Europe.
Ambassador termed the oil and gas partnership as jewel in the crown of Pak-Polish relationship. He expressed his high hopes for this visit and reiterated Poland’s interest in investing and developing oil and gas sector in Pakistan.
The Minister committed to provide all possible assistance and facilitation to Polish Company for smooth operation and to ensure continued investment from Poland. The delegation expressed gratitude for the Minister’s support. PGNiG Group’s management has always recognized Government of Pakistan as well as its officials’ support for its operations in Pakistan, said Mr Robert.
He said PGNiG hopes that the investment climate in Pakistan will improve and is committed to contribute to country’s energy security. PGNiG, also known as Polish Oil and Gas Company (POGC) has been operating in Pakistan since 1997 as a branch office of PGNiG Group Poland. It has on its credit the maiden tight gas reservoir discoveries of Pakistan which are being successfully developed.
