KARACHI:Karachi police on Sunday claimed to have arrested an accused involved in robbing a citizen from Gulshan-e-Maymar area of the city.
According to police sources, a Gulshan-e-Maymar police team immediately took action on the victim citizen’s complaint. The police chased and arrested the accused identified as Azhar while his accomplice managed to escape.
The police claimed to have recovered weapons along with a loaded magazine and snatched goods from the possession of the accused.
They also seized a stolen motorcycle without number plate used by him. The motorcycle recovered from the accused was stolen from the premises of Sohrab Goth police station. The arrested accused said during interrogation that the motorcycle was stolen from Sohrab Goth last week.
The police said that accused Azhar along with his accomplice confessed to his involvement in dozens of robberies. The police have registered a case against the accused and started a probe into the case.
The crime record of the accused is being collected by the police and weapons recovered from the accused were being sent for forensic, the police further said.
