Shikarpur:Khanpur police Sunday claimed to have got freed an abducted youth in an operation in katcha area within the limits of Kot Shahu police station.
According to police sources, Sultan Mahar, a resident of village Jumo, had been abducted by bandits a week ago and was hidden in katach area of district Shikarpur. The dense forests of Shikarpur are major hideout of the bandits.
On the complaint by the heirs, the police raided various areas of katcha area near Khanpur and in the operation, recovered the abductee when the bandits were shifting him from one hideout to another.
The police claimed that after the operation for some time, they succeeded in recovering the kidnapped youth from the clutches of the bandits. No casualty or any arrest of bandit was reported. The villagers have searched for the youth at many places and had held series of protests for his recovery.
