Power politics main cause of delay in Kashmir solution: Yasin Malik

Srinagar, February 05, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik has termed election and power politics as the main cause of delay in resolution of Kashmir dispute and increase in Kashmiris’ sufferings.

Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement in a statement issued in Srinagar said India has always used election politics and participation in it as a justification to delay the resolution of Kashmir dispute and has thus denied the people of Kashmir their basic right to self-determination under the garb of these so-called elections.

He said that from 1950s, these very elections and assemblies, parliaments, panchayats, municipal councils and committees produced as a result of this process have strengthened Indian illegal occupation on Kashmir and passed and implemented black laws like Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and Public Safety Act (PSA) and to justify and legalize tyranny and oppression unleashed by India against Kashmiri people.

He said that in 90s, Ishtiyaq Qadri was leading employees and delivering fiery speeches in favour of mujahideen but soon he joined dirty politics and betrayed Kashmiris and his employees too. He was succeeded by Khurshid Aalam and Muntazir Mohiuddin who kept going on till 2014. Both these remained part of resistance, used to deliver fiery speeches but as their predecessor, used freedom movement as launching pad to land into the lap of India, betraying their own people and employees, he added. Yasin Malik said after these two, Abdul Qayoom Wani assumed the charge of leadership but he too treading path of his predecessors repeated the same story of betrayal and treachery recently.
