Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, stated that the controversial canal project will be terminated before the budget. He claimed that the people of Sindh are in protest against this project and only the People’s Party can stop such a canal.

While talking to the media in Bhan Saeedabad, Murad Ali Shah clarified that the approval for the canals was obtained from IRSA during the caretaker government, and the leadership of the People’s Party, including Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, will not allow anti-people projects to be implemented. He mentioned that the President, Asif Zardari, had announced in the Parliament House not to support the canals.

Murad Ali Shah informed that the People’s Party has held public demonstrations against the canals in all divisional headquarters. He further mentioned that yesterday in Hyderabad, the People’s Party held a major protest rally with the public, while in Sukkur, the People’s Party will demonstrate its public strength on April 25.

The Chief Minister of Sindh said that a conspiracy was hatched against the People’s Party under the guise of the canal project. He threatened to withdraw support for the government if the decision to construct the canals is not reversed.

He emphasized that as long as the Pakistan People’s Party exists, the canals will not be built, and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto also had the Kalabagh Dam project terminated. He further added that Bilawal Bhutto has stated that he stands with the public on the issue of canals, not with Shahbaz Sharif.

Finally, Murad Ali Shah said that we are the soldiers of Bilawal Bhutto and will not back down.
