President for timely completion of reform process to give voting rights to overseas Pakistanis

Islamabad, August 05, 2021 (PPI-OT):President Dr Arif Alvi has emphasized the need to timely complete the reform process to give voting rights to nine million overseas Pakistanis. Chairing a meeting of the sub-committee on emerging technologies in I-voting in Islamabad today (Thursday), he said modern technology can be utilized to give voting rights to the overseas Pakistanis.

Chairman NADRA Muhammad Tariq Malik briefing the meeting on the progress made so far on I-Voting. He said the Election Commission of Pakistan and NADRA are jointly working on I-Voting. He said NADRA will provide technical assistance to ECP for its capacity building. The meeting stressed the need for further strengthening NADRA as well as appreciated its efforts regarding I-Voting.
