President Asif Ali Zardari received the outgoing Ambassador of Austria to Pakistan, Mrs. Andrea Wicke, at Aiwan-e-Sadr today for a farewell meeting.
The President commended the envoy’s work in bolstering the two nations’ collaborative relationship during her posting. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also attended the meeting. During the discussion, President Zardari affirmed Pakistan’s high regard for its relationship with Austria. He stressed the importance of expanding trade and economic partnerships for the mutual advantage of both states. He showcased Pakistan”s significant tourism potential and encouraged Austrian businesses to invest, specifically in mountain tourism, where Austria holds substantial proficiency.
The President also pointed out Pakistan”s expanding pool of qualified IT specialists. He proposed that Austrian firms could leverage Pakistan’s workforce in the information technology domain. President Zardari congratulated Ambassador Wicke on the successful conclusion of her diplomatic mission and conveyed his well wishes for her future pursuits.
