Problems of the growers to be addressed: Mushtaq Shah

Karachi, August 02, 2018 (PPI-OT): Provincial Caretaker Minister for Irrigation, Public Health Engineering and Rural Development , Inter Provincial Coordination and Excise and Taxation Mushtaq Ahmed Shah has taken notice of growers protests in Dadu, Badin , Sukkur and other districts regarding shortage and unfair distribution of water. In a statement issued here on Thursday he asked the Secretary Irrigation to probe into the matter and submit a report in this regard that why the irrigation officials are allegedly blamed for selling water to big and influential landowners while small growers especially growers of tail end areas are being deprived of their due water. He said that tail end areas must get water so that the small growers would be able to cultivate their crops properly. He was sure that judicious distribution of canal water might resolve the issue. He also asked not use force against these growers.
