Proceedings of audio leaks commission to be made public

ISLAMABAD:The first meeting of the Judicial Commission- formed to probe the audio leaks related to the judiciary- headed by Justice Qazi Faez Isa was held here at Supreme Court on Monday. The judicial commission announced that the proceedings of its inquiry will be made public. However, it added that the commission could review any request for an in-camera session if any sensitive matter is brought to light.

Attorney General for Pakistan Mansoor Usman Awan appeared before the three-member judicial commission. The Commission sought transcripts of all the audios from the Attorney General. Names of all persons in the audio leaks, their addresses and contact numbers have also been sought. The Attorney General was directed to submit the whole record before Wednesday. In his remarks, Justice Qazi Faez Isa said there is heavy responsibility on us and we want to complete all the proceedings at the earliest. Later, the commission adjourned the proceedings till May 27.
