Prof Dr Muhammad Raza Shah, Senior Professor at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, has been appointed UNESCO Chairholder of the UNESCO Chair on Medicinal and Bio-Organic Natural Product Chemistry at the ICCBS.

The University of Karachi’s Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Iraqi recommended Prof. Raza Shah to be appointed as the Chairholder of the UNESCO Chair.

Prof. Raza Shah has authored six books (Elsevier) and edited four books (Elsevier), along with 09 chapters in books and more than 460 research articles in international journals with an impact factor of more than 1700 with H-index 50. Prof. Shah has three US patents to his credit. He has supervised and co-supervised 35 Ph.Ds. and 44 M.S/M.Phil scholars.

Prof. Dr. Khalid Mehmood Iraqi, the University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Farzana Shaheen, Director of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, and Prof. Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman, Professor Emeritus and former Federal Minister for Science and Technology, congratulated Prof. Shah on his appointment as the UNESCO Chair holder.
