DIG DL briefed meeting that 99 percent issues regarding Android and IOs software have already been solved. All license branches including, Nazimabad, Korangi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad are connected online with the central branch in Clifton. He said due to the digitalized system the renewal process of license now completes within five days and the license is delivered to customers’ home address in the province.
The IGP instructed that all fee collecting mechanism should be improved and a complete report should be sent at CPO in monthly basis for the sake of LD branches’ transparency. However, the Karachiites feel that the number of driving license branches in the mega city Karachi is not enough to cater the needs of millions of citizens. They have been demanding opening of at least one driving license branch in every town of the mega city. They have also been demanding to resume and make functional the mobile van facility for issuing learners’ licenses.
