Protest in Srinagar to condemn killings, CASOs

Srinagar, January 30, 2018 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, a peaceful protest demonstration was held in Srinagar, today, to condemn the killings and cordon and search operations carried out by Indian forces in Shopian, Pulwama, Kulgam and Islamabad districts.

The protest held in Hyderpora area of Srinagar was attended by resistance leaders including Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Sheikh Abdur Rasheed, Omar Aadil Dar, Bashir Ahmed Kashmiri, Showkat Ahmed Bakhshi, Mukhtar Ahmed Sofi and Advocate Yasir Ahmed Dalal. Addressing on the occasion, the leaders said that Indian forces had been given a licence to kill the Kashmiri people at free will.

Meanwhile, the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik following release of New Delhi High Court’s report on the detainees lodged in Tihar jail expressed concern over the plight of the inmates. The report confirmed the inhuman torture on Syed Salahuddin’s son, Shahid Yousuf, at India’s notorious Tihar jail.

The leaders in a joint statement issued in Srinagar, today, said that all Kashmiri political prisoners including senior APHC leader Shabbir Ahmad Shah were facing serious threat to their life. They said that the report had termed the condition of Tihar jail’s inmates as appalling.
