Protest outside Indian Consulate in Birmingham against Modi’s speech

Birmingham, September 26, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Kashmiri Diaspora community protested outside the Indian Consulate in Birmingham against Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). The President of Tehreek-e-Kashmir, UK, Raja Fahim Kayani addressing participants of the protest said, Modi’s hands are stained with blood of thousands of Muslims in India and Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

He said, Modi should not be allowed to speak at the UNGA session because of the war crimes and grave human rights violations by Indian troops in IIOJK. The TeK President also hailed Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan’s stance and support for the people of IIOJK during his address at the UNGA session.

The President of Tehreek-e-Kashmir, Europe, Muhammad Ghalib on the occasion said that the world had seen the atrocities India was committing in Kashmir, moreover, India is the violator of the UN resolutions on Kashmir and all international laws. India must be stopped from the genocide of Kashmiris vis a vis demographic changes, financial breakdown and judicial terrorism, he added.

Ian Scott, President of Trade Union Council, Birmingham, denounced Indian oppression and atrocities in IIOJK and called for peaceful and just solution of the Kashmir dispute as per the Kashmiris’ aspirations.

Stuart Richardson, General Secretary of Stop the War Coalition, Birmingham, said that Kashmiris must be given the right to self-determination as agreed upon at UN that oppression and suppression could never win hearts, India must stop atrocities and initiate the process of plebiscite as per UN resolutions. Ch Muhammed Shanwaz, Khawajah Inam-ul-Haq, Rana Rabnawaz, Raja Javed Khan and Azam Farooq on the occasion also condemned the Indian atrocities in IIOJK.
