Srinagar, March 03, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian authorities have invoked black law, Public Safety Act, against the vice chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar, and shifted him to Central Jail, Srinagar. The authorities who arrested Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar a few days ago and locked him in Srinagar’s Batamaloo police station made a ridiculous charge in the PSA dossier that the APHC leader has been releasing press notes to the media.

The Indian authorities have already booked almost all APHC leaders including Chairman, Masarrat Aalam Butt, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik Aasiya Andrabi and Nayeem Ahmad Khan under the draconian law and lodged them in different jails of Indian and IIOJK.

Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference in a statement issued in Srinagar strongly condemned the slapping of the PSA on its vice chairman, Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar, and termed his arrest as a vengeful act and manifestation of the worst form of Modi’s fascism. The APHC, however, pointed out that all Indian brutal acts including the arrests of pro-freedom leaders would fail to deter the Kashmiri people from pursuing their legitimate struggle for freedom.

National Conference President Farooq Abdullah addressing party workers in Ganderbal said that communal forces under the smokescreen of electoral redistricting are gerrymandering to politically isolate the real representative and democratic forces of the territory. Referring to the redrawing of constituencies by the so-called Delimitation Commission, he said BJP and its local proxies cannot swoop in to grab power through democratic means, and are, therefore, engineering defections by employing perverse tactics.

On the other hand, the US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Donald Lu has admitted that there are challenges to the human rights situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

While briefing members of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee, he made a mention of absence of assembly elections, restrictions on free movement as well as detention of prominent journalists in the occupied territory. The US diplomat noted that the US believes all Kashmiris deserve the right to live in dignity and enjoy protections and asked India to fulfill its commitments in this regard.
