ISLAMABAD:The coalition government has decided to close Motorway and GT Road keeping in view the PTI’s 25th long march towards Islamabad, according to a report on Tuesday.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has already warned that the government would not let the PTI’s long march to be successful as it would disrupt peace. The Motorway will be closed from today to block the long march. The authorities have also boosted deployment at all the entry and exit points of Lahore.

The police in Lahore have seized 120 tankers and have also taken affidavits from the transporters that they will not provide transport to the protesters.

In a Political Committee meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today, it was decided that security of the people of Pakistan will be ensured. It was discussed that these rallies can destroy economy and daily waged worker will directly be affected by this. Those who will break the law will be held accountable for their acts while all avenues will be kept open for the public interest. The law will take action against any kind of violence or provocation.

After the imposition of section 144 in Sindh, Punjab and Islamabad on Tuesday imposed section 144 amid Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf s (PTI) call for the Long March on May 25. Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Attaullah Tarar said in a press conference that we are imposing section 144 in Punjab.

Atta expressed that Imran Khan wants to spread chaos in the country as he is not in the power. We will not allow anyone to take law in their hands, he said. Meanwhile, routes and transport towards Islamabad is closed from Punjab and its surroundings. Rangers will also be deployed in the province.

Earlier, Sindh government imposed section 144 across the province. Meetings, processions, rallies and public gatherings will be banned across Sindh.

On Monday, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Monday warned that the government would not let the PTI’s May 25 long march to be successful. Talking to the media, Rana said that whoever crossed the boundaries of decency, the law would teach it how to remain within the limits of civilization. He said that there were evilness and wickedness about the personality and in the language of Imran Khan, it is believed that he could not remain peaceful.

On Sunday, Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said that every legal means would be used to stop the PTI’s ‘bloody’ long march and to protect people in Islamabad.
