Muhammad Ali Baloch, the Sindh spokesperson for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has voiced grave concerns over the worsening law and order situation in the metropolis, holding the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)-led Sindh government responsible for the chaos.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Baloch highlighted alarming statistics, revealing that between January 1 and January 8, 15 individuals lost their lives to gun violence, while over 35 were injured. He also pointed to a surge in incidents of street crime, including vehicle and mobile phone snatching.

Criticizing the provincial government, Baloch accused PPP of abandoning Karachi’s citizens, noting that many areas lack access to clean drinking water. ‘Prolonged power outages and crumbling infrastructure have made life unbearable for residents,’ he remarked.

He further lamented the deplorable state of the city’s roads, which he said have turned daily commutes into a nightmare due to persistent traffic jams. ‘Transport projects announced by the provincial government remain in limbo, while Karachi’s streets resemble ruins,’ he added.

Blaming both the Sindh Govt and Karachi’s mayor for the city’s plight, Baloch claimed that despite Karachi contributing 90% of Sindh’s tax revenue, the collected taxes are not being reinvested into the city. He accused the government of ‘tax theft’ and alleged that Karachi’s voters were punished for supporting PTI in the last general elections.

‘Karachi handed PTI 22 National Assembly and 30 Provincial Assembly seats, but a conspiracy was hatched to steal the public’s mandate by tampering with Form-47,’ he alleged.

Baloch asserted that the people of Sindh have lost faith in the PPP, predicting its political end in the province. ‘With the support of the people, PTI will establish its government in Sindh, ‘ he concluded.
