Following the call of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), protests and rallies were held across Sindh, as well as the rest of the country, demanding the release of PTI founder and Chairman Imran Khan.

In Karachi, a rally, led by PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh, took place in various parts of the city. Key PTI Sindh leaders, including Rizwan Niazi, Alamgir Khan, Moazzam Khan, Abid Qureshi, Miss Seem Khan, Allama Maulana Jameel Azhar Vathra, Anwar Mehdi, Ayesha Rashid and others, participated in the rally.

Addressing the rally, Mr Sheikh stated that Imran Khan was fighting for the survival of Pakistan and had been unjustly imprisoned on false charges. He urged the public to take to the streets and register their protests in support of their leader. “The country is going through a very delicate phase,” he remarked.

The PTI Sindh chief emphasized that peaceful protest was a constitutional right of every Pakistani, but the current regime had sidelined the constitution and laws, effectively imposing a civilian dictatorship. He also criticized the heavy police presence at Insaf House in Karachi, which was aimed at arresting PTI workers, while other parties were permitted to hold their programs with protocol.

Sheikh accused the so-called democratic government of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in Sindh of depriving the people of their basic rights. He highlighted that the entire nation was witnessing that Imran Khan was politically victimized by current govt, who had been unjustly imprisoned since August 5. “As long as the judiciary in this country is not independent, justice will not prevail,” he added, claiming that the rights of the people were being usurped.

Speaking on the occasion, Rizwan Niazi, PTI Sindh’s Additional General Secretary, stated that peaceful protests were being held nationwide for Imran Khan’s release. He accused the current rulers of being afraid of Imran Khan, knowing that ‘if he is freed, the entire nation will rally behind him’.

Niazi claimed that the government would not last a day once Imran Khan was released, and highlighted that several PTI leaders, including Bushra Bibi, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Alia Hamza, and Sanam Javed, were also imprisoned on false charges. He concluded as saying that the nation was demanding the immediate release of Imran Khan and all PTI leaders.
