A general holiday has been announced for December 5 in Sheikhupura district due to the by-election taking place in Punjab Assembly constituency PP-139 Ferozewala.

According to a notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner’s office, the by-election is scheduled for December 5, and in light of this, a public holiday has been declared in the district. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has appointed Shahid Imran, Deputy Commissioner of Sheikhupura, as the District Returning Officer.

The PP-139 seat became vacant following the death of Rana Afzal Hussain, who had been elected to the Punjab Assembly after the resignation of Rana Tanveer Hussain.
