SIALKOT: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Gujranwala Region Ahmad Mubarak Ahmed Iqbal has urged that police and public cooperation will not only help in bridging the gap between police and public, but also help in making the society crime-free.
He stated this while addressing a meeting of police officials here on Saturday, and added that all-out efforts are being made for changing the decades-old police culture, but it is not possible overnight, as it will take some time for which active public cooperation is vital to make the dream a reality.
He said, “We will adopt all the positive steps for restoring the confidence of the public towards police, besides ensuring early implementation on various police-public friendly policies & proposals and this step would be helpful in developing the healthy relationship and mutual confidence between police and public”.
He said that all the police stations would be made the model police stations, declaring the adoption of good moral ethics and police code of conduct, adding that there is no doubt that the good aptitude of police towards the justice seeking people could be helpful in minimizing the tension of the oppressed people.
Ahmed said that under the present scenario of the society the early restoration of public confidence in police is also direly needed for promoting the good policing, admitting that there are several flaws in police services, but it is high time now to remove these flaws with the active cooperation of the masses.
