Punjab Chief Minister addresses Convention of Ulema from All Schools of Thought Says Political

Lahore, January 06, 2018 (PPI-OT):Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that ulema and mashaikh have a very great responsibility to discharge that is to improve the destiny of the nation and guide the society and the majority of ulema teach righteousness and truthfulness. He said Allah Almighty has given countless abilities to the ulema who are the great people and can play a great role in changing the destiny of the nation as a teacher, khathib, aalim and mufti. He said ulema have a great role to play in ending confusion prevailing in the country and resolving minor religious differences.

He said the role of ulema in eliminating religious hatred cannot be ignored and ulema have the great role to play by controlling differences in the society and ending confusion in the society. He said every Muslim is ready to sacrifice their lives for the respect of Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and the message of the life of Holy Prophet (PBUH) is to serve orphans, widows and distressed humanity.

He said Holy Prophet (PBUH) has given the message of forgiveness and patience. He said equal distribution of wealth is also the message of Holy Prophet (PBUH). He said Pakistan can become an example of love, sacrifice and justified distribution of wealth if ulema promote this message of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). The chief minister expressed these views while addressing a convention of ulema belonging to all schools of thought at Aiwan-e-Iqbal here today. He said the reservations created in the society during the last few decades due to the religious hatred and ulema can resolved this situation.

The chief minister said Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had signed the agreement of Madina Accord to provide peace and protection to non-Muslims and this record is a great example for us and in the same way through Hudaibiya Treaty Muhammad (PBUH) gave us the message how to resolve challenges and difficulties. He said the Treaty of Hudaibiya give us the message to settle matters with consultation, wisdom and acumen and Treaty of Hudaibiya is a great example in this regard. He said Quai-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal have also given this message in their teachings. He said unfortunately the disparity of the rich and the poor is increasing in our society and due to the loot of the natural resources the poor is becoming poorer and distressed humanity is going through a worst situation.

He said ulema should play their role in facing these challenges by teaching the message of Holy Quran and Sunnah. He said the today’s spiritual gathering from across Pakistan and the world will spread the message of unity and harmony, and promote religious harmony and tolerance. He said in the current situation unholy plots are being hatched to destroy the national unity and in these plots some foreign forces also have their role. He said the US president in his tweet has taunted 21 crore people of Pakistan and he has insulted our national integrity by calling Pakistan liar and conspirator. He said the people of Pakistan have given exemplary sacrifices not only for Pakistan but for the whole country and the US president has insulted our sacrifices.

He said the army police and every segment of Pakistan have given historic sacrifices in the war against terrorism and this irritating statement has put price tag of dollars and pounds on our sacrifices. He said those who are weighing thousands of sacrifices for dollars should know that our proud nation will fall these plots. The Chief Minister said on the one hand foreigners are insulting us while on the other hand the politics of sit-ins started in Pakistan in 2012 are strengthening these nefarious acts. He said we have rendered sacrifices not for dollars but for peace in Pakistan and the whole world but we are being taunted. He said political, judicial and military leaderships of the country should sit together and decide that whether we have to live a respectful or a disrespectful life.

He said we should work together to make Pakistan welfare state as per thoughts of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal. He said if we do not sit together today and do not decide to change the destiny of the country then we will be taunted like this till the doomsday. He said martyrs are our heroes and their families have strong determination. He said he visited the resident of martyred second lieutenant Abdul Moid and met his parents and siblings. He said Rana Sanaullah has presented his point of view on the finality of the Prophethood (PBUH) in detail with clarity and there is no room for discussion on this topic any more. He said we have detailed discussion on the respect of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and all ulema said that due to the measures taken by the federal government this law has been strengthened.

He said now instead of giving this a political colour we should move forward for welfare and progress of the country and instead of creating rift in the nation we should make the nation united and make it stronger. He said the US president has asked about details the 33 billion-dollar and we will provide them but I want to make it clear that this was the coalition support program that was meant for joint efforts for the elimination of terrorism. Addressing the convention, Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan said the belief in the finality of Prophethood (PBUH) is the basic part of our religion and those who do not believe in the finality of the Prophethood (PBUH) are considered expelled from the religion and they are non-Muslims and are creating fitna in the religion.

He paid glowing tribute to Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif for holding a successful convention and said this is a welcome step and government took timely measures to tackle the situation created in connection with the finality of the Prophethood (PBUH) and the steps taken by the government are praiseworthy. Allama Syed Riyaz Hussain Najafi said the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken revolutionary measures in all social sectors including education and health and these revolution steps will produce fruits when there will be peace and national harmony in the society. Maulana Ilyas Chinioti said due to in time steps taken by the government on the issue it was resolved and the chief minister of Punjab raised his voice on this matter first of all when this issue was created. He said the exemplary development in the Punjab is praised inside and outside the country.

Allama Dr Mohammed Hussain Akbar said some people adopted a wrong way for their personal benefits regarding the situation on the finality of Prophethood (PBUH) and it caused the loss of billions of rupees to the country. Allama Syed Chiraghuddin said Chief Minister Shehbaz is an undisputed personality and we pray that Allah Almighty provide him the chance to serve the whole country. He said CM Shehbaz Sharif has made Punjab an exemplary province in terms of development and thousands of people are benefiting from the welfare projects like Metro Bus project. Maulana Muhammad Khan Leghari said today’s gathering has express complete confidence in the chief minister. He said Shehbaz Sharif and his family are serving as the soldier of the religion.

Mufti Intekhab Ahmad Noori said political game is being played on the issue of the finality of Prophethood (PBUH). He paid tribute to CM Shehbaz Sharif for raising voice on this issue first of all. He said projects life like PKLI, Metro Bus and Orange Line are gifts for the people of Punjab. Maulana Muhammad Amjad said Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif raised his voice on the matter of finality of Prophethood (PBUH) first of all and he rightfully played the role of custodian of the belief of the finality of the prophethood (PBUH). Provincial Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan, Zaeem Qadri, Syed Ali Geelani, members of Punjab assembly, senior officers of government of Punjab and ulema belonging to all schools of thought participated in the convention.

Those who participated in the convention include Allama Ghulam Mohammad Sialvi, Maulana Abdul Wahab Ropri, Allama Muhammad Hussain Akbar, Maulana Muhammad Amjad Khan, Allama Syed Riaz Hussain Rizvi Najafi, Dr Raghib Hussain Naeemi, Pir Mahfuz Ahmed Mashadi, Maulana Mohibullah Noori, Inamul Haq Shah, Hafiz Asad Obaid Al-Azhari, Maulana Muhammad Abdul Mateen, Pir Chiraghuddin Shah, Maulana Muhammad Naeem Butt, Mian Mehmood Abbas, Syed Attiqur Rehman, Maulana Irfan Ullah Sinai, Maulana Muhammad Yasin Rahi, Prof Abdul Rehman Shariq, Shafqat Hussain Malik, Maulana Syed Sibte Haider Sabzwari, Syed Noor Bahadur Shah, Allama Rashid Turabi and Maulana Afzal Haidri.
