Lahore, January 10, 2018 (PPI-OT):Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today inaugurated the extension project of THQ Hospital Raiwind. Due to the project which has been completed through public-private partnership, the number of beds has been increased from 60 to 100. Addressing inaugural ceremony, the Chief Minister said that Orthopaedic and Gynae Wards have been established along with provision of state-of-the-art operation theatre and latest machinery for providing quality medical facilities to the locals as well as the patients coming from adjoining areas and the hospital shall work as a messiah for the ailing humanity. He pointed out that new hospitals are being established across the province where latest facilities are provided and besides installation of CT Scan machines in all the DHQ hospitals, hepatitis filter clinics have also been set up in every district.
Now the patients will not have to go to big cities for CT Scan or MRI as these facilities will be available in their areas. We have totally changed the outdated system and nobody will ever dare to say this to the patients that CT Scan machine is out of order or his duty time is over. The company which has set up the CT Scan machine shall also be responsible for its working round the clock. Now, no one will economically deceive the needy patients as it is a big cruelty that the patient which is in dire need of tests and the CT Scan machine operator of a public sector hospital makes lame excuses. Now it will not happen as we have done away with this archaic system.
Now the people will be given proper treatment in hospitals and there would be no strikes as billions of rupees are being spent on the provision of quality medicines. It was my desire that same medicines should be given to the patients in public sector hospitals which will be used by me in case of any ailment. Today, this dream has come true and for the first time in the 70 years history of the country, needy patients are getting free medicines which are available to the elite. He said that samples of medicines were sent to European laboratories for examination and it has happened for the first time that not a single sample has been rejected.
In the past, 50 percent samples were rejected. He said that mobile health units are providing best healthcare facilities in remote areas. Keeping in view their efficacy, 25 mobile health units have also been imported. Some of them have reached here which will be sent to remote areas. Similarly, 40 hospitals have been modernized in different districts of the province and high-quality facilities are being provided to the patients. This is the revolution we have brought in the health sector, he added. On one side, we have revolutionized the health sector and on the other side, elements involved in sit-ins and lockdowns are desirous of destroying the revolution as the journey of public welfare is not tolerable to them.
The PML-N MPA Tahir Sindhu who passed away a few days ago met me earlier and I attended his funeral prayer the other day. What is the objective of sit-ins, lockdown and agitations as life is a mirage? Why are you unnerved over the revolution of prosperity being brought in the lives of the hoi polloi by us? We are introducing a system that was envisaged by Iqbal and Jinnah but it has been conspired to hinder it through sit-ins. No other conspiracy can be hatched against Pakistan than it, he added. I am giving warning to the political jugglers that they should refrain from their designs of befooling the nation otherwise you will be held accountable and the nation will never forgive you. What you have done in the KPK during the last four and half years as you have only lied, took u-turns and deceived the people.
You had said that you will construct hospitals and schools in the KPK instead of starting a Metro bus project but after the passage of more than four years, you have decided to start the metro bus project there. But you are unable to fix even a single brick of the project. Instead of giving honor to your voters, you have ridiculed them. While giving interview to a journalist, you claimed that you will not only eliminate load-shedding from the KPK in next five years but will also remove the darkness of load-shedding from the whole of the country.
There are plenty of opportunities available for producing thousands of megawatts electricity through hydel power in the KPK but you have not produced even the single megawatt electricity during last four and a half years. On the other side, Punjab government has completed electricity generation projects of 5000 megawatts capacity from its own resources and work is in progress on other projects as well. Niazi Sahib, you blatantly deceived the nation; lied and created anarchy. Now what face will you show to the people? You levelled allegations of corruption of billions of rupees to me and I took you to the court but you did not appear before it. It would have been better if you could prove the allegations as well.
Please appear before the court and if you prove the allegations of corruption then I shall go home and you can replace me. Then you may speak lies and continue to take u-terns to your heart’s content. You have been deceiving the nation by continuously speaking lies during the last more than four years and it was you who made an accusation of spending an amount of 70 billion rupees on Lahore Metro Bus but you could not prove it till today. I have been continuously crying that only 30 billion rupees have been spent on it. He said that if we succeed in the KPK in the elections of 2018 then I promise that Peshawar Metro Bus project will be operationalized within a year.
He said that you have also made a claim of planting one billion trees in the KPK but the reality is that a whole year is required to count such a big number of trees. You have not planted trees nor have established any hospital there and not a project of electricity generation has been established in the KPK while we have established electricity generation projects of thousands of megawatts capacity in the Punjab. You are actually deceiving the nation while claiming to lead it, the Chief Minister said. Instead of serving the masses, you call others as dacoits and thieves while escaping to the hills of Nathia Gali. This nation wants health, education and transport facilities but you are giving falsehood, anarchy and chaos to it.
He said that PML-N government has taken unprecedented steps for the development and prosperity of the people and if the masses give an opportunity of serving to them again, then Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta and other cities will be totally transformed. My name should be changed if these cities are not developed on the pattern of development made in Lahore. I pray to Allah Almighty to save the people from cheaters and the people levelling baseless allegations. The nation should elect such a leadership that could make Pakistan a state which was envisioned by Quaid and Iqbal by following the norms of honesty, trust and hard work.
He said that first phase of PKLI has been inaugurated and the credit goes to its management. Multan Kidney Center, hospital in Raiwind and five other hospitals of Lahore along with Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital of Muzaffargarh have been handed over to the Indus Trust which has been managing them in the best of manner. The head of this trust Dr. Abdul Bari is a saint-like personality and his team is serving the patients honestly and without any lust. I pray to Allah Almighty that they should serve the ailing humanity with more vigour and zeal. He also thanked that Health Minister Kh. Imran Nazir, Minister Tanvir Aslam Malik, Secretary Health Ali Jan Khan and Secretary C and W Mian Mushtaq who have given a new lease of life to this hospital.
He expressed the satisfaction that besides other facilities, gynae ward has also been established which will work round the clock. I have come to this hospital many times earlier and I am happy to see that best facilities are available here, he added. The Chief Minister took a round of the hospital after the inauguration and inquired the patients about the medical facilities provided to them. He also talked with the doctors and other staff and expressed the satisfaction that all the staff is diligently serving the patients. He also visited the filter clinic and inspected the medical facilities there. He presided over the meeting in the committee room and directed that a number of counters for the outdoor patients should be increased so that they may not have to wait.
