Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Monday appreciated the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) contributions to the province’s socio-economic progress during a meeting with ADB Country Director Dr. Emma Xiaoqin Fan in Lahore.
The discussion revolved around strengthening cooperation in key sectors, including agriculture, health, education, infrastructure, environmental protection, and digital development.
Ms Sharif highlighted her government’s commitment to driving socio-economic growth through robust and inclusive planning. ‘The ADB has played a pivotal role in the province’s development and economic recovery,’ she noted.
Dr. Fan commended Punjab’s initiatives for women’s empowerment and public welfare. She expressed the ADB’s interest in expanding collaborative efforts with Pakistan to support its development priorities.
The meeting underscored the importance of sustained partnerships to enhance public welfare and provincial growth.
