LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday took notice of the murder of five people at the hands of a man in Sheikhupura and ordered the Punjab inspector general of police (IGP) to submit a report. The chief minister ordered strict action against the suspect. “Such a beast does not deserve mercy,” he said. A security guard had killed a flour mill owner as well as four members of his own family in Farooqabad area of Sheikhupura yesterday (Saturday, March 11, 2023).

According to the report, the guard opened fire and killed a flourmill owner over a petty dispute. The accused, who was identified as Tanveer, also killed his wife, two young children and sister-in-law after killing the flourmill owner. According to police, Nazir Ahmed Hashmi, the owner of the flourmill, was leaving the flourmill when the accused Tanveer opened fire at him. Three persons were also injured in the shooting on Nazir Ahmed out of which the condition of one is said to be critical.

After killing Nazir, Tanveer went to his home where he killed his own family members as well.
