Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif today mandated comprehensive security measures for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha festivities.

Her orders aim to safeguard citizens with foolproof security during the celebration, particularly focusing on the bustling cattle markets that emerge during this time. She instructed an increase in security personnel at these markets to ensure the safety of both buyers and sellers. Additionally, she has called for effective traffic management around these areas in major urban centers to prevent congestion and ensure smooth vehicular movement.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister has made it clear that transport fares must remain consistent across all cities. She has mandated the display of fare lists and vehicle fitness certificates on bus windshields to promote transparency. To protect the public from exploitation, she ordered stern action against those imposing inflated fares, with a directive to refund any overcharged amounts to passengers.

In a bid to maintain order and efficiency, she has also instructed livestock officials to be present at cattle markets to oversee operations and address any issues that may arise.

These comprehensive directives underscore Maryam’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful and well-organized Eid-ul-Azha for the people of Punjab.
