Purpose of celebrating World Patient Safety Day is to contain the spread of infectious diseases in the hospitals: Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi

QUETTA: Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi, Parliamentary Secretary for Health, has said that the purpose of celebrating World Patient Safety Day is to contain the spread of infectious diseases in the hospitals.

In a statement issued here on Friday on the eve of World Patient Safety Day, she said that 110 hospitals of the country, including two of Balochistan, had been included in patient safety framework, adding that the World Health Organization (WHO) being observed to is extending cooperation for sterilization of health related equipments in Bolan Medical Complex Hospital, Quetta and Sandeman Provincial Hospital, Quetta.

She added that concrete steps were required to be taken for containing the spread of infectious diseases in the light of recommendations of the World Health Organization, adding that measures were being adopted to introduce reforms in the health sector of the province.
