PYA holds demo for rights of Sindh people

LARKANA:The activists of Progressive Youth Alliance (PYA) took out a rally and held a protest demonstration at Jinnah Bagh of the city on Saturday against violence, murders, sexual harassment, students fee hike, hostel allotment issues, unemployment, occupation of islands, corruption and retrenchment of steel mill employees.

 

Shoaib Chandio, Safiullah Sindhi, Mohbat Chandio, Shahzaib, Aftab Chandio, Zubair Jagirani and others while talking to media said that women of Sindh were feeling insecure in Sindh because of increasing incidents of infamous Karo-Kari for which police had also failed to take stern timely legal actions against the accused.

 

They said students’ fees had been increased which meant they were being forced to stop education and had been deprived of their right to education and the worst situation was faced by them in hostel allotment which was an extremely worrisome situation prevailing to get education in the province of Sindh.

 

They said the foundation of Pakistan Medical Commission was laid to deprive students of Sindh of medical education and treat them step-motherly. They said massive unemployment had resulted among young men who are committing suicides due to killing of merit and they were also facing mental torture. They strongly condemned retrenchment of steel mill and other institutions’ employees and federal government ordinance to occupy Sindh’s islands which they said would not be tolerated any more. They demanded justice for the people of Sindh.
