Quetta traders demand end to power outages

QUETTA: Anjuman Tajiran Nawa Killi, Ulus Zagh and Anjuman-e-Ittehad, Khakrez Masjid, Nawa Killi have demanded of the authorities of WAPDA to get SDO and Line Superintendent, WAPDA, Nawa Killi transferred and end power outages in Nawa Killi and its adjoining areas otherwise residents of the Nawa Killi would again take to the streets.

Addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club here on Saturday, Wali Afghan, President, Anjuman Tajiran, Nawa Killi, Nazir Bazai, President, Ulus Zagh and Hafiz Saleem Muslim, President, Anjuman Ittehad Khakrez Masjid, Nawa Killi said that residents of Nawa Killi and its adjoining areas were confronting several problems, including gas and power load shedding. They alleged that Sub Divisional Officer, QESCO, Nawa Killi, Line Superintendent, Murad were reluctant to address the genuine problem of the residents of Nawa Killi and its adjoining areas.

They said that staff of QESCO, Nawa Killi were not taking action against direct connections of electricity. Demanding the authorities to end unannounced power outages in Nawa Killi and its adjoining areas, get SDO and Line Superintendent, WAPDA, Nawa Killi transferred, they said if demands of the residents of Nawa Killi and its adjoining areas were not addressed, residents of the Nawa Killi would again take to the streets by staging a sit-in.
