QUETTA: The Balochistan government said on Monday that rain and urban flood emergency has been imposed in the rain-affected areas of Balochistan province.
In a statement, he said that due to heavy rainfall, leaves sanctioned in respect of all officers and subordinate staff of concerned government departments had been cancelled, adding that the Balochistan government had announced that all public and private schools across the province would remain closed from April 15 to April 16, 2024 owing to recent rainfall.
Separately, Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bughti chaired an online meeting to review flood situation in the province. The meeting was attended by all divisional commissioners and the authorities of Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Balochistan.
Briefing about to overall rain situation in the province was given by Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Balochistan, Imran Zarkoon and Director General, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Balochistan.
Expressing indignation over the delay to drain out rainy water accumulated in the residential areas, the Chief Minister Balochistan said, “It is our responsibility to take people out of difficulties and hardships. He directed the relevatn authorities to clear all encroachments constructed upon flood drains and streams.
