KARACHI:Administrator Karachi Dr. Syed Saifur Rahman has set up a Rain Emergency Cell at KMC Sports Complex in view of the forecast of expected rains, which will be headed by Senior Director Municipal Services and will work in collaboration with all relevant departments.

The Rain Emergency Cell will work in three shifts and for this, officers and other staff from different departments have been deployed including four grade-18, three grade-17 and two grade-16 officers which include Tahsin ur Rahman from Council Secretariat, Muhammad Amin from R and MA Department, Shoaib Abbas from SRS Hospital, Javed Mustafa from Head Office Medical Department, M. Saleem from Charged Parking Department, M. Asif, Sajid Siraj from Human Resource Management Department and

Naseemul Ghani from Charged Parking Department has been posted in Rain Emergency Cell.

Administrator Karachi has directed the heads of Engineering Department, Parks and Horticulture Department, Municipal Services Department, Medical and Health Services Department, Land Department, Anti-Encroachment Department, Fire Brigade Department and City Warden Department to send the relevant staff for Rain Emergency Cell immediately to provide convenience to the citizens during rains.

Administrator Karachi said that according to the forecast of the Meteorological Department a rain making system has entered the country and rain is predicted from Friday, April 28, so necessary precautionary measures are being taken to deal with any untoward incident.

All the concerned departments of KMC should make all the preparations on emergency basis and keep a complete watch on the situation during the rains, the leave of the officers and other subordinate staff serving during the rain emergency has been cancelled. The head of the departments should ensure full implementation of the directives given in this connection.
